Annabel Mednick: New work at show at Buckenham galleries,Southwold. 22 May-23rd June

Always fascinated by the light that pours in, energising the stillness of a room, the contrast of outside and inside, dark and light, Annabel Mednick explores the drama of the quiet moment.

In between the big events of life – birth, death etc – people are living normal lives, her work is a celebration of that.

The square format and the absence of a frame add a contemporary twist to a timeless subject. In her interiors, the stones of the building have been there for centuries, while the people are transient; the light from the outside world comes in and moves around them, linking them to the past, the future and everyone else.

Classes and Workshops

Here are the details of the classes and workshops coming up....

Tuesday and Wednesday Morning 'Drop in' classes, 9.30 - 12.00. am,
Work alongside me in my Ipswich Studio. Practice your skills in painting and drawing in an informal and relaxed way, with lots of help and friendly advice. Just £12 a session - you don't need to book for the whole course just come when you can and pay on the day.

Wednesday evening Life Drawing 6.30 -8.30
An opportunity to be adventurous and take a fresh look at life drawingwith an experienced tutor and model: where is the weight, the dynamic, the flow? Delve deeper into the human form. Classes are incredibly good value at £50.00 for four sessions, (don't have to be consecutive) or £15 to drop in.
